Not to the dogs, with the dogs
this morning dianne and i met karrie and susan and their dogs for a run. those dogs are becoming such good running dogs. running with a dog seems to smooth out a run somehow. what good pace setters these guys are. it seems to change the rhythm/timing/cadence just a bit for the better. then there's the distraction of having to mind the dog in case it stops, or veers, or we pass another another dog. i'm happy that i don't own a dog but very happy that my friends own well mannered dogs i enjoy.
as i get ready for the half this sunday, some thoughts i've had include:
if i just run a negative split race and don't come out TO fast i think a two hour half is possible.
a nine minute mile pace for a half yields a 1:57 run. a two hour half means a mile time of 9:10.
i hope i don't have to STOP and use the porta-can during the race. i hope i don't have to...i hope i don't...
i have yet to actually register. this is not avoidence behavior at it's best, i just didn't like the shirt last time and they didn't have my size, so why register early?
could i really do it? i could really do it.
i won't be any more ready than i am. right. now.
the last half i ran was this one last year. it was my first race ever. 11:06 mile pace running 8 and 1's.
this year it's a pr.
oh. one more thing. i have an e-mail newsletter from my office, lewisville massage therapy clinic. runner susan did the header and made it look so good. if you send me your e-mail address, i'll send you one.
happy running y'all.

Good luck with the training for the half! Watch for all the people wearing trash bags - copycats!
I think you'll break two hours Massoman - you certainly have it in you. Go out slow and relaxed and then get in the groove. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
Good luck friend!! I know you can do it!! Nikko is fond of you too!! Hahaha!!
Sending good vibes your way this weekend.... Remember, to run a negative split means to start out more slowly so you have plenty left in the tank at the end. Harder to do than most realize.
Good luck this weekend! We will be thinking of you. Don't forget your trash bag, it might rain! Haha!
Good Luck with the half. I can't wait for the report and I hope you like the shirt.
best of luck with the 2 hours .... whatever time you run, enjoy it
I missed the trash bag picture! Where should I look? please put me on the list for your massage clinic newsletter at theepunch@yahoo.com
