St John's Sunshine Run 10K

Average pace 9:16 mile for 6.35 miles. To make the finish be at home plate in Hammons Field (Springfield, MO. We're here visiting our kids) the race was .15 miles longer. Don't yet know my offical chip time. Splits:10:01, 9:42, 9:14, 9:34, 9:18, 8:18, last .23 miles=1:46 then to the finish was .12 miles=52 seconds. I had a neat experience at the end. I thought I could have picked up the pace before I did and been OK. This race was lots (seemed like mostly) of long gentle uphill climbs, especially mile 4. Temp was great; chilly at the start, 40's with patchy sun. Out of 2,000 runners I was the ONLY ONE wearing a trash bag to keep warm pre-race. There was a band playing at mile 5 and they looked quite cold. This was lots of fun.

Sounds like it was a wonderful day to run! You need to wear that trash bag when we run. I have got to see that!

Look at those descending splits - run your sub-2 marathon now!

Nice to know you're at the forefront of running fashion. Wait and see - trash bags will take off soon!
