Dorothy's Dash Report

today our gang met at flower mound high school to run dorothy's dash metric half (8.1mi) and five k. sorry i don't have a pic but i didn't have a place to put my camera (no wise cracks) but karrie, cindylouwho, our friend deena and my bw all lined up at 8:30 morning. it was a mostly perfect morning for a run with a little bit of north wind, temps in the high 40's and clear as a bell. the majority of the coarse was on simmons road down to the lake and back. it's hilly; downhill on the way out, uphill on the way back (especially mile 5&6ish) with the last mile and a half level to the finish. this was a small race, maybe 800 people for the 5k and the 8 miler. there were plenty of water stops, but no porta-pots on the route. that kinda sounds like having a bar with out bathrooms....

perhaps the best news of the day was that dianne pr'd again. she finshed 5k in 34:24. as we were getting ready for work later i heard her complaining and asked what the matter was. "these pants don't fit! they're to big! yes friends, it was a good day for dainne.

my average pace was 9:11. here are my splits: 9:49, 9:16, 9:10, 9:02, 9:19, 9:17, 9:00, 8:36, last .17mi 1:28. i had a nice day, too.
